Now if we could only use the wearable to make a phone call, pay a bill, enter the subway, provide a digital RealID at the airport, cast a ballot, or register our children for school, then we might have something really cool. (or maybe even detect my sarcasm)

So disappointing! For everyone crumb of good news we get from HHS, then comes a whopper bad move. This is NOT why we donated/volunteered/supported him 😞

I think people in the Anti-Means camp have the wrong idea about wearables. I've had one month's worth of continuous glucose monitoring, which I had to pay for myself, as Medicare won't pay for it unless you're sick enough to need insulin. Up until RFK, HHS didn't recognize the value of preventing becoming diabetic. I hope HHS will start paying for my monitoring. So, I assert along with RFK that this kind of feedback is a really good thing for one's health.

The contentious part is whether the monitor is connected to the cloud. People are rightly afraid of a comprehensive surveillance system that knows the intimate details of one's biology. I agree with that point of view, which is why I operated my monitor in local mode. The only location of my data was in my phone. I don't want it out there, to be sold to advertisers or whatever.

Let me assure people: There's nothing like seeing the effect of eating a pizza on one's glucose level to be empowered to gain self-discipline over one's diet. As long as you keep your data local only, no one is spying on you.

The 'every American' part is the main problem

From what I've read of yours, you were way out early in terms of health food. So you're not in the target demographic. Because the very large majority of the public is still pretty clueless about food (just look at what sells in grocery stores!), I'm not troubled by the idea of the widespread adoption of monitors. I draw the line, as I'm certain you do, with mandates...

Health is wealth. I still do my best to stay active and strong as I am turning 67 this year. Yes, mandates are the problem. Thank you for your engagement and great comments. Ray

Mandates are likely the entire point

Given that you're talking about RFK Jr., that seems awfully paranoid to me... What possible basis could you have to be concerned about him enacting mandates?

1st it would be a mandate. Like house arrest with REAL ID and banking info mixed in. You know the Means support this.

You guys are in a completely different universe than me--and I've deeply studied the New World Order.

Like Obamacare?? You mean that wasn't mandate for insurance coverage you don't need??

For medical insurance coverage most likely initial stages.

What I'm referring to here is relevant only to people with metabolic issues. That's not everyone. But it sure is a wide swath of the public! Anyone dealing with being overweight needs help extracting themselves from the sea of crappy foods Americans are drowning in.
